Paan coconut ladoo has gulkand in the center and taste delicious. It is best sweet to prepare during festivals or any parties. Even it is simple, easy and quick sweet recipe which can be prepared with less time. Paan gives nice flavor, color and refreshing taste and gulkand in the center taste divine along with coconut. It can also be had after meal as a mouth freshener.
Ingredients:
Desiccated coconut - 1 Cup + 4 tbsp
Condensed Milk - 1/3 Cup
Paan/beetel leaves - 5
Gulkand - 3 tbsp
Desi Ghee - 1 tsp
Method:
Step 1 : In a mixer, blend both condensed milk and chopped paan till it combines well.
Step 2 : In a pan, add 1 Cup desiccated coconut and roast for maximum 2 mins. Colour of the desiccated coconut should not change.
Step 3 : Add paan - condensed milk mixture into it and mix well with desiccated coconut. Cook for another 2 mins in a low flame. By this time, mixture will thicken. Remove from heat.
Step 4 : Grease your hands with little ghee and scoop out small amount of mixture into your hand. Flatten the coconut mixture and add 1 tsp of gulkand in the center. Bring the edges together and roll to form a ball shape. Roll these ladoo in desiccated coconut. Repeat the same process with remaining mixture.
Note :
1) Green food color can be added into it. It is optional. Paan itself gives the nice light green color to the ladoo. In my ladoo, I didn’t use food color.
2) Amount of the gulkand used as a filling can be varied.
