Crusty from outside, puffy inside and eggless doughnut recipe is here with step by step pics.
Ingredients :
All Purpose Flour / Maida – 3 cup + more
Milk Powder – 4 tbsp
Salt – 1/2 tsp
Soft Unsalted Butter – 1/4 grams
Vanilla Essence – 1.5 tsp
Warm Milk – 1 cup +more as needed
Sugar – 10 tbsp powdered
Dry Yeast – 1.5 tsp
Oil for Deep frying
Chocolate Ganache
Method:
Step 1 : In a bowl, take warm milk, sugar and yeast and leave it for 5 to 10 min or till yeast activate to form foamy. Add in vanilla essence and mix well. Milk neither be hot nor cold/room temperature. It should be luke warm. If the milk is hot then it kills yeast and if it is cold or at room temperature then yeast won’t get activated.
Step 2 : Add flour, milk powder, salt in a wide mixing bowl. Make a well in the middle and add yeast milk mixture. Use a spoon to mix dough. Dough will be sticky. Once it is mixed then add room temperature butter and mix well in the dough.
Step 3 : Cover and allow for an hour to raise or till it is double the size.
Step 4 : Punch the air down and add more flour and knead to a soft dough.
Step 5 : Roll the and cut into donut shape using cookie cutter. Arrange in a plate and allow for 30 mins to raise.
Step 6 : Heat oil in a kadai. Fry one or two doughnuts at a time till it turns golden on both sides. Drain on a paper towel and set aside.
Step 7 : Plain hot doughnuts can be served or Doughnuts can be coated with sugar and cinnamon powder or Dip the donuts in chocolate ganache and top it with your favourite toppings.
