Custard Powder Halwa is simple Indian halwa prepared with custard powder, sugar and water. It can be easily prepared by beginners without much mess like other halwa.
Ingredients:
Custard Powder - 1 Cup
Sugar - 3 Cups
Water - 4 Cups
Ghee - 3 tbsp
Cashew - 10 (Broken into pieces)
Cardamom Powder - 1/4 tsp (Optional)
Method:
Step 1 : Roast the Cashew nuts in 1 tbsp of Ghee or cashew nuts can be used directly in the halwa. Grease a plate with ghee.
Step 2 : Add Sugar, Custard Powder and Water in a thick kadai or Non Stick Pan and Whisk well to avoid lumps and stir till Sugar dissolves completely.
Step 3 : Keep the Kadai/Pan on medium flame and start whisking till it turns thick and glossy consistency. Keep Stirring to avoid lumps.
Step 4: Once it turns glossy, Add a tbsp of Ghee and Powdered Cardamom. Once it turns glossy and Mix well.
Step 5 : At one point of time, it becomes thick and comes together as a whole mass and starts to leave the sides of the pan, then add remaining ghee, roasted cashews, mix well and switch off the stove.
Step 6 : Now its the time to transfer the mixture to a greased plate. Let it set at least for 30mins.
Once it is set, cut into desired shape.
