Chocolate Idly Cake

Chocolate Idly Cake is delicious, moist cake prepared in a pressure cooker. This cake recipe does not require Oven to prepare delicious cake. This is prepared the same way how we prepare Idly. This can be prepared as a breakfast or evening snacks for kids. Cake can be served along with chocolate sauce. 

Ingredients :

All Purpose Flour / Maida    – 1/4 cup
Sooji / Rava / Semolina      – 1/4 cup
Cocoa Powder                 – 2 tblspn
Oil                          – 2 tblspn
Curd / Yogurt                – 1/2 cup
Sugar                        – 3 to 4 tblspn
Baking Soda                  – 1/4 tsp
Vanilla Essence              – 1 tsp
Water or Milk                – 1/4 cup or less
Chocolate Sauce for serving


Method: 

Step 1 : Take yogurt/curd and sugar in a mixing bowl. Using whisker, whisk curd until sugar dissolves completely.
Step 2 : Add oil and vanilla and whisk until it blends well.
Step 3 : Add Semolina, Cocoa powder and mix well without any lumps and keep it aside for 10mins. Now add in oil and vanilla and whisk well.
Step 4 : Add baking soda and Maida and mix well without any lumps. Now add water/milk to get Idly batter consistency.
Step 5 : Grease Idli plates and Spoon the batter into greased idly plates. Steam for 5 to 7 mins. Insert a toothpick to check whether the cake is baked completely. Remove once its cool down.
Serve along with chocolate sauce.

Note: Water/Milk will be added at the end to get Idly batter consistency. Hence 1/4 cup or lesser Water/Milk will be added to the batter.
