Carrot chapathi is very simple and healthy breakfast for kids and even for adults. This recipe contains only carrot and wheat flour and I have not used any masala in it. Same chapathi dough can be used for preparing poori. These carrot chapathi can be served along with any subzi or even with coconut chutney.
Healthier Side : Carrot provides a good source of Vitamin A. Hence it is good for our eyes. Apart from this, It has a lot of health benefits including beautiful skin, cancer prevention and anti-aging.
Ingredients:
Wheat Flour - 2 cups
Grated carrot - 1/2 cup to 1 cup
Salt as per taste
Water for kneading as required
Oil or ghee as required for roasting
Method:
Step 1 : In a mixing bowl, add grated carrot, salt and wheat flour and mix well. Add water into the mix and knead to a smooth dough. Add 2 tsp oil at the end and knead again. Cover dough with wet muslin cloth and rest dough for 20 mins.
Step 2 : Make medium sized dough balls and roll the dough into medium sized chapathi. Heat a tawa and drizzle oil on chapathi and cook till both the sides has golden spots. Serve hot carrot chapathi with any subzi or coconut chutney.
Step 3 : For Poori, make small balls of dough and start to flatten it. *Neither too thin nor too thick.
Step 4 : Deep fry in hot oil and remove when it start to turn light brown in colour. Serve hot with Aloo Peas curry.
Note :
1) For Poori, dough should be little bit tight compare to chapathi dough.
2) Measurement carrot can vary from 1/4 cup to 1 cup. Generally, I prefer to add 1 cup grated carrot for 2 cups wheat flour.
