Khara Miada biscuits are easy to prepare and very tasty to munch. My mom used to prepare spicy and sweet versions of Maida biscuits when I was a kid. Now my kids love to munch these biscuits.
Ingredients:
Maida - 1 CupRed chilli powder - 1 tbsp
Jeera - 1 tsp
Ajwain - 1tsp
Hing / Asafoetida - a pinch
Salt to taste
Water as needed for kneading dough
Oil for deep frying
Method :
Step 1 : Take all the dry ingredients in a large bowl and mix well. Add water as needed for kneading and at the end, knead the dough well with 1 tsp of oil. Cover the dough and rest it for at least 15 to 30 mins.
Step 2 : Heat oil for deep frying.
Step 3 : Take a dough and roll it into thin chapathi and cut into strips and then diagonally to make diamond shape using knife or pizza cutter.
Step 4 : Deep fry in hot oil in medium flame and keep turning the biscuits to fry uniformly. Fry till golden and drain it in a paper towel.
Step 5: Cool down completely and store in a air tight container.
Note:
1) Do not store the biscuits without cooling down completely.
