Green Chutney / Coriander Chutney for Chats


Green chutney or Coriander chutney for different type of Indian snacks like samosa, pakoda, chaats and it can also be used as a dip.  


Ingredients:

bunch of chopped coriander leaves - 1
Green chopped chilies - 2
Lemon juice - 2 tbsp
Ginger - 1/2 inch
Cumin Seeds - 1 1/2 tsp
Oil - 1 tsp
Sugar - 1 tsp
Pinch of hing

Method:

Step 1 : Blend all the ingredients into smooth paste and add water as required. Taste can be adjusted by increase or decreasing salt, green chillies, lemon juice.

Note : Little sugar and oil helps in retaining its green color.

Tips :

1. For sandwich spread, mix 1 part green chutney and 2 parts cream cheese.

2. Dip for Vegetables, fish fry or tandoori chicken, mix one part chutney and 3 to 4 parts of yogurt.

3. Green chutney can be stored by freezing chutneys in a ice cube trays and later transfer in a zip lock plastic bag. While serving, it can be defrost and used for serving.
