Chicken Manchurian


Chicken Manchurian is the one dish which is relished by everyone at our home. It is an Indo-Chinese starter which is perfect for any parties. 



Ingredients:

Finely chopped ginger-garlic    - 2 tbsp
Thinly sliced onion             - 1
Thinly sliced capsicum          - 1
Finely chopped Spring Onion     - 1/4 cup (Optional)
Cornflour / Cornstarch          – 1 tsp
Water                           – 4 tbsp
Salt to taste
Oil for frying

For Sauce:
Tomato Ketchup                  – 1/4 cup
Green Chilli Sauce              – 2 tbsp
Red Chilli Sauce                – 2 tbsp
Soya Sauce                      – 1 tbsp
Vinegar                         – 1 tsp
Sugar                           – 1 tsp

For Marination:
Boneless Skinless Chicken Breast – 500grams
Egg – 1
Cornflour / Cornstarch – 4 tbsp
All Purpose Flour – 2 tbsp
Soya Sauce – 1 tsp
Salt to taste
Pepper to taste

Method:

Step 1: Mix all the ingredients mentioned under sauce in a bowl and keep it aside. Mix cornflour and water in another bowl and keep it aside separately.

Step 2 : Cut chicken pieces into small cubes and marinate with the ingredients mentioned under Marination. Marinated Chicken can be deep fry or tawa fry with little oil on both sides. Add oil into a kadai and once oil is hot, put the marinated chicken into it and fry till turns golden fry on both sides. Once it turns golden brown, then remove and drain it.

Step 3 : Same kadai can be used to prepare Chicken Manchurian. Remove excess oil from kadai (one tbsp of oil is enough). Only one tbsp of oil is more than sufficient. Stove showed be on high flame. Add finely minced ginger garlic into it and fry for a minute. Add thinly chopped onion and fry for a min and now add capsicum and fry for a minute. Add sauce and mix well. Once it sauce starts thickening then add fried chicken and cornflour mix into it. Add in spring onion and mix well. Toss well.

It can be served as a starter or even with piping hot boiled rice.
