In Karnataka, Seekarane is served with holige or obbittu as a side dish. This is similar to Aamras. It can be served along with Chapathi , Poori. It is very easy to prepare and takes less time for preparation. It’s a mashed mango and mixed with little milk and sugar as per the taste. In some parts of Mysore, we pronounce it as Shrikarane.
Ingredients :
Mango : 2
Powdered Sugar : 2 to 3 tbsp
Milk : 2 tbsp
Method :
Step 1 : Mango can be mashed with your hands or blender. Transfer the mashed mango into a bowl.
Step 2 : Add powered sugar into the mashed mango. Sugar can be vary according to your taste. Powered sugar will be easier to mix with mashed mango rather than using crystal sugar
Step 3 : Add milk and mix with the mango. Chill for 2 to 3 hrs and serve along with Holige or Obbittu
