Banana Halwa

Banana Halwa with Step by Step Photos

Bunch of Banana was lying on the dining table. Kids were not ready to finish in a day or two. Hence got an idea to prepare this recipe and even i can preserve it.Here goes the Step by Step Banana Halwa recipe...





Ingredients:

Ripe Banana     - 1 large (around 1 cup mashed)
Jaggery         - 1/4 cup or to taste
Cardamom powder - 1/4 tsp
Ghee            - 2 tbsp
Maida           - 1 tbsp
Almonds / Badam - 3 tbsp (optional - use any nuts)

Method:

Step 1 : Peel and mash the ripe banana. Grease a plate with ghee and set aside.

Step 2 : Make a Jaggery syrup with 2 tbsp of water.

Step 3 : Fry the chopped nuts in 1 tbsp of ghee in a nonstick pan till it turns golden. Drain them and keep it aside.

Step 4 : In the same pan, add one more tbsp ghee and add the mashed banana and saute for a min.

Step 5 : Add Jaggery Syrup and mix well and saute till the mix gets thick. Add Maida into the mixture as a binding agent.

Step 6 : At a point, the Halwa will get glossy. Add cardamom powder and fried nuts. Mix well.

Step 7 : Pour this into a greased plate and smooth the top. Let this cool down. Cut into pieces and enjoy.
