Ingredients:
Chicken - 1/2 kg
Onion - 2 medium size
Tomato - 2 medium size
Curry leaves - 2 sprig
Pepper powder - 2 tbsp
Oil - 2 tbsp
Salt to taste
For Masala Paste :
Onion - 1 medium size
Ginger - 1/2 inch
Garlic - 8 cloves
Dried Red chillies - 4
Cumin Seeds - 1 tspn
Black Pepper - 1 tspn
Coriander seeds - 1 tspn
Turmeric powder - 1/2 tspn
Oil - 2 tspn
Note : Spices quantity can be increased and decreased based on your taste buds. Using coconut oil instead of refined oil will enhances the flavor of this recipe.
Method:

Method:
Step 1 : Clean chicken and keep it aside.
Step 2 : In a pan, heat oil and add dry red chillies, cumin seeds, black pepper corn and coriander seeds. Saute till it gets roasted. It takes 1 or 2 minute. Add crushed garlic, ginger, and chopped onion. Saute for couple of minutes. Now add turmeric powder and saute for a minute. Switch off the gas and allow the mixture to cool down to room temperature and later ground into fine paste.
Step 3 : Take a pressure pan/cooker and heat oil. Add curry leaves and finely sliced onion into it. Saute till onion turns translucent. Add sliced tomato and cook till tomato turns mashy or soft. Now add grounded masala paste into it and mix with onion and tomato mixture and cook for a minute or two.
Step 4 : Add chicken pieces and salt into it and fry for 3 or 4 minutes. Add little water and cover the pressure cooker and cook for 1 whistle on medium flame and switch off the stove.
Step 5 : Once cooker’s pressure settles down then open the lid and remove only chicken pieces from cooker and keep it aside. Keep gravy on medium flame and allow it to thicken.
Step 6 : Once the gravy is thick, then add chicken pieces back to the cooker. Add pepper powder and mix well with chicken. Roast for couple of minutes. Now its ready to serve as a starter or even along with Rice.
