Kadle Puri Oggarane / Spicy Puffed Rice



Oggarane kadle puri is one of the healthy snack with low calories and famous around India with different names. Best snack to munch during monsoon and winter season.

Ingredients:

Puffed rice /Kadle Puri            - 2 litres
Mustard                            - 1 tbsp
Asafoetida                         - 1/4 tsp
Peeled Garlic pods                 - 3 tbsp
Curry Leaves                       - 5 to 6
Peanut                             - 4 tbsp
Red Chillies                       - 4 to 5
Roasted dal                        - 4 tbsp
Sliced Dry coconut                 - 1/4 cup
Red Chilly powder                  - 2 tbsp
Turmeric powder                    - 1 tbsp
Oil                                - 2 tbsp
Salt to taste

Note : Measurement of garlic, peanuts, roasted channa, dry coconut may vary according to your preference. Similarly, quantity of red chilly powder can vary according to your taste buds.

Method:

Step 1 : Heat oil in a broad pan/ wok and Keep all the ingredients ready.

Step 2 : Add mustard into oil. Once its splutters, add Asafoetida, Peanuts and later dry coconut slices into it. After 1 min, add garlic pods and saute them on a medium flame.

Step 3 : Once peanuts and dry coconut turns golden color or becomes crispy then add roasted dal, red chilli and curry leaves.

Step 4: Add kadle puri or puffed rice and mix well so that all the puffed rice gets evenly coated with spices. Keep mixing for another 2 to 3 mins on low flame, so that puffed rice becomes more crispy.

Switch off and allow to cools down or comes to room temperature. Store in airtight container.
